ViewLux Driveway & Pavers: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
We stock and install ViewLux-compatible driveway and paver materials throughout Dallas, with typical installed paver driveway work running $7,000 to $18,000 depending on square footage, base prep, and the specific ViewLux paver profile you’re matching. Most owners call us because a section of their driveway has shifted, a paver has cracked, or the sand between joints has washed out after a hard North Texas storm. The good news: if you know which ViewLux paver line you have, we can usually match it within a day of seeing the job.
Trevor Nash will tell you straight: pavers rarely fail all at once. You’ll see it in one corner first, where water pools after rain, or where the driveway meets the garage slab and a lip starts to form. By the time most Dallas homeowners call us, the problem has been quietly developing for a season or two. That’s normal, and it doesn’t mean the whole driveway is shot. It does mean the base underneath needs attention, not just the paver on top.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux produces interlocking concrete pavers in several profile families, and the trick is knowing which one went into your Dallas driveway. The most common lines we see in older Dallas neighborhoods like Lake Highlands and Preston Hollow are the 60mm residential pavers, usually in a 4×8 or 6×9 profile. Newer installs, especially in developments around Frisco and McKinney, tend to use the 80mm commercial-grade paver, which holds up better under heavier vehicle loads but costs more to replace per square foot.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most homeowners don’t know: ViewLux changed its color-blending process about eight years ago. If your driveway went in before that, a paver ordered today in the same color name won’t match exactly. We deal with this by pulling a sample from an inconspicuous area of your driveway and blending three close shade lots during install. That’s the difference between a patch job that screams “repaired” and one you’ll never spot from the street. Aftermarket pavers in the correct profile and depth work fine structurally, but we’ll always show you the color match side by side before ordering anything.
You can identify your paver profile by measuring the exposed face. A 4×8 paver measures roughly 4 inches by 8 inches across the top. Depth matters too: flip up a paver from the edge and look for the 60mm or 80mm stamp on the underside. If you can’t find it, send us a photo. We’ll match it during the estimate.

Signs Your ViewLux Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Water pooling in low spots after a normal rain. This means the sand base has settled unevenly underneath, usually from poor compaction at install or erosion at the edges. The paver itself is fine; the foundation under it is not.
- A paver that rocks or tips when you step on it. One loose paver in a field of solid ones points to a broken edge restraint or a void in the bedding sand. Left alone, that one paver starts shifting its neighbors.
- Sand washing out between joints after every storm. Dallas gets a lot of clay-heavy runoff. If your joint sand keeps disappearing, the driveway probably lacks a proper edge restraint, and water is carrying the sand out from the sides.
- Cracks running through multiple pavers in a line. This is a base failure, not a paver failure. It happens when vehicles park repeatedly on a section that wasn’t compacted deeply enough, or when a tree root underneath finally pushed through.
- A visible lip or drop at the garage slab transition. The base at that junction gets the most stress from vehicles entering and leaving. When it fails there first, that’s normal wear, but it needs a proper re-grade and edge treatment to fix, not just resetting the pavers.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Dallas, a full ViewLux-compatible paver driveway replacement typically runs $7,000 to $18,000 installed. That range reflects the biggest cost drivers: total square footage, paver profile depth (80mm costs more than 60mm), how much of the existing base can be salvaged, and whether we’re removing an old concrete slab first. Most of the driveways we replace in East Dallas and North Dallas fall in the $10,000 to $14,000 range when the old base is fully rebuilt.
Every quote includes the same line items, so you can compare honestly: demolition and haul-off of existing material, base excavation and compaction, geotextile fabric where the clay soil demands it, bedding sand, the pavers themselves, joint sand, edge restraint, and a final compactor pass. We hand you a written price before any work starts, and that number holds unless we uncover something structural that no contractor could have seen from the surface. If that happens, we stop and show it to you before spending another dollar.
Partial repairs, where we cut out a failed section and re-set pavers on a rebuilt base, usually run $1,500 to $4,500 in Dallas depending on the section size and whether the edge restraint is still intact. The workmanship warranty covers the repair for 365 days under the Done Right Promise. If a joint opens up or a paver shifts inside that year, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
There are two things a Dallas homeowner can safely check before calling anyone. First, look at the edges of the driveway. If the plastic or metal edge restraint has pulled away from the pavers, that explains most shifting. Second, check your downspouts. A gutter pouring directly onto the driveway edge will erode the base faster than anything else we see in Dallas. Redirect that water before you pay for repairs, or you’ll pay for them twice.
What we don’t recommend is pulling up pavers and re-setting them yourself. It looks simple, but the failure almost always lives in the base underneath, not the paver on top. You’ll spend a weekend re-leveling four square feet, and six weeks later the same paver will sink again because the base was never re-compacted. The other part people underestimate is the compactor. Without a vibratory plate compactor run in passes, the repair won’t hold. That’s not a rented tool problem; it’s a knowing-how-deep-to-rebuild problem. Call us at (940) 204-5368 before you dig. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it sounds like a simple re-set or a base rebuild.
FAQs

A properly installed ViewLux paver driveway in Dallas lasts 25 to 30 years at the surface, with the base below typically holding up 15 to 25 years before it needs re-grading. Our North Texas clay soil, with its shrink-swell cycles, knocks a few years off the base compared to drier markets. Call (940) 204-5368 for an inspection if your driveway is past year twelve and showing any of the signs above.
A single cracked paver can usually be replaced without disturbing the surrounding area, as long as the crack came from an impact and not a base failure underneath. If multiple pavers are cracking in a line, that’s a base problem, and replacing just the pavers will crack again. We’ll tell you which situation you have during the estimate at (940) 204-5368.
A typical paver driveway replacement in Dallas takes three to five working days from demo to final compaction, depending on square footage and whether we’re rebuilding the base from scratch. Partial repairs are usually done in one day. Weather can stretch that schedule, so we give you a real arrival window before work starts, not an open-ended guess.
We keep the most common ViewLux-compatible 60mm and 80mm profiles in standard colors on hand in our Dallas area stock, but most custom color matches are ordered per job after we pull a sample. Ordering typically adds three to five business days. We also work with Belgard and Unilock pavers when a homeowner wants an upgrade or a better color match to an existing older ViewLux install.
