PGT Driveway & Pavers: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
PGT driveway and paver parts in Dallas typically run $7,000–$18,000 installed for a full paver driveway, with individual paver replacement or edge-restraint repair falling between $250 and $1,200 depending on how many units failed and what the base underneath looks like. Most Dallas homeowners discover a problem the same way: a paver sinks after a heavy rain, an edge row starts drifting into the lawn, or a low spot holds water for days after a storm. When that happens, the question isn’t just “which paver do I buy?” — it’s whether the base layer under the pavers is still doing its job. We stock common PGT paver profiles and the edge restraints, joint sand, and base material that go with them, and we can usually get a crew out within a few days of your call.
Which PGT Models This Applies To

PGT manufactures interlocking concrete pavers in several profile families — most commonly a 60mm pedestrian-grade unit for patios and walkways and an 80mm vehicular-grade unit rated for driveway traffic. The 60mm paver will crack under the weight of a pickup truck or SUV, which is a compatibility gotcha we see often in Dallas driveways where someone originally installed patio-rated pavers to save money. If you can find a stamp or label on the underside of an existing paver, it will usually show the lot number and sometimes the profile name. No stamp? Flip a paver over and measure the thickness — that tells us which replacement unit matches.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: PGT pavers are concrete, and concrete is concrete, but color match is where aftermarket equivalents fall short. A paver that’s 95% the right color still reads as a patch. We pull from PGT’s current Dallas-distributed color lines first, and when a color has been discontinued, we’ll show you samples of the closest aftermarket match before we order a single unit. Penhallow Remodeling Dallas is an independent service provider — we’re not affiliated with PGT — but we install and source their products regularly, so we know which colors are still active and which are not.

Signs Your PGT Driveway & Pavers Are Failing
- A single paver cracks down the middle while its neighbors stay intact. This usually means that paver is bridging a void in the base, or it took a point load like a jack stand or a trailer tongue. The crack is the symptom; the base void is the problem.
- Edge pavers drift outward, leaving a widening gap against the curb or lawn. Edge restraint has failed or was never installed correctly. In Dallas clay soil that expands and contracts through wet-dry cycles, edge drift happens faster than homeowners expect.
- Water pools in the same spot for 48+ hours after rain. The base has settled or washed out in that area. Water pooling is a warning sign that more pavers in that zone are about to shift.
- Joint sand disappears quickly, and weeds or ants take over the cracks. This is normal wear, but if it reoccurs within months of refilling, water is moving through the base and flushing the sand out from underneath.
- You hear a hollow pop or crunch when you step on a paver. The paver is no longer fully supported. Walking on it repeatedly will crack it, and if it’s in a driveway, driving on it will certainly crack it.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what PGT paver and driveway work runs in Dallas, installed:
- Full paver driveway install: $7,000–$18,000, driven by square footage, base depth, access, and whether we’re tearing out an old slab first.
- Paver patio install: $3,500–$11,000.
- Spot repair (10–30 pavers re-set): $250–$1,200, including base re-leveling and new joint sand.
- Edge restraint repair per linear foot: $8–$15, depending on whether we’re pinning plastic or aluminum edging into existing base.
Every quote includes the parts, the base material, haul-off of the failed units, and a written price before we start — no verbal ballpark, no change order at the door. The number Trevor Nash puts in front of you is the number on the invoice. All paver work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if a re-set paver shifts or an edge pulls loose within the year, we come back and make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
There are things a Dallas homeowner can safely check before calling us. You can sweep out the joints, note which pavers rock or sound hollow, and check whether the edge restraint has pulled free anywhere. You can also measure a cracked paver’s thickness with a tape measure before you call, which saves time. What we don’t recommend is pulling pavers up and hand-tamping a repair yourself. The base — and the reason it failed in the first place — is under the paver you can see, and Dallas clay does not forgive a shallow fix. You’ll have the same paver sinking again after the next big rain. If the driveway has settled more than an inch or the failure is near a drain or a slope, call us at (940) 204-5368. We’ll give you a number for the repair before we pick up a tool.
FAQs

A properly installed PGT paver driveway in Dallas lasts 20 to 30 years, though edge restraints and joint sand need attention every couple of years because our clay soil expands and contracts hard through wet and dry seasons. The pavers themselves rarely fail; the base and edges fail around them.
No. A cracked concrete paver cannot be glued or patched in a way that holds under vehicle weight. It gets replaced, ideally with a unit from the same color lot or a close match we’ll show you before ordering. Call (940) 204-5368 and we’ll match it.
A spot repair of 10 to 30 pavers usually takes one day, including base re-leveling, re-setting the units, and re-sanding the joints. A full driveway tear-out and re-install runs three to five working days, weather permitting.
We stock the most common PGT driveway profiles and colors in our Dallas yard, plus edge restraint, base material, and joint sand, so most spot repairs happen without a wait. If your color or profile is discontinued, we’ll pull samples of the closest match and get your sign-off before we order. Call (940) 204-5368 for a free estimate.
