ECO Window Systems Fence Installation: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
We install and replace fence systems for ECO Window Systems products throughout Dallas, and most jobs run between $3,500 and $9,000 installed, depending on linear footage, post condition, and whether we’re pulling a permit in your specific neighborhood. We stock the common ECO Window Systems fence hardware on our trucks, so a straightforward swap usually happens in a single visit. Most homeowners discover a problem the way you probably just did: a gate that drags, a post that leans after the spring storms, or a fence panel that has pulled loose from its anchors entirely.
The words “fence installation” attached to a window brand might feel confusing at first. ECO Window Systems makes window units, but their product line includes aluminum fence systems used around pools, patios, and property lines. These fences use the same extrusion approach as their window frames: powder-coated aluminum channels, corner keys, and screw-port assembly. That’s why the failure pattern is so predictable in Texas. The aluminum and the fasteners are fine. It’s what Dallas soil does to the posts that causes most of the trouble.
Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

ECO Window Systems fence components fall into two broad lines: the Standard Series, which uses a 2-inch square post profile, and the Premium Series, which steps up to a 2.5-inch post with a thicker wall. Most Dallas homes built after 2012 that used ECO fence products have the Standard Series. You can identify what you have by measuring the post width with a tape measure, or by looking at the cap: Standard Series caps are press-fit plastic, while Premium Series caps are cast aluminum with a visible set screw.
The compatibility gotcha that trips up most DIY buyers is the gate hinge block. ECO changed the hinge block geometry in 2019, and the new blocks do not seat correctly in pre-2019 posts without a shim kit. If you order a replacement hinge online based on a photo alone, you’ll get the new style and wonder why your gate sags by an inch the day after you install it. We carry both generations of hinge blocks so we don’t have to guess. As an independent contractor serving Dallas, we’re not affiliated with ECO Window Systems, but we keep their parts on hand because enough of our remodel clients also need fence work done right.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Fence Installation Is Failing
- Gate drags on the latch side. The hinge blocks have worn or the post has settled, which is common in the clay-heavy soils you find from Garland down through Mesquite. A gate that scrapes today may not latch at all by August.
- Post leans after heavy rain. Dallas gets short, intense storms, and clay soil expands and contracts violently. If the post wasn’t set in concrete that extends below the frost line, the freeze-thaw cycles we do get will eventually push it out of plumb.
- Panel rattles in the channel. The rubber gaskets inside the vertical channels break down under Texas UV exposure. Once the gasket goes, the panel has play, and the rattle is the aluminum vibrating against the channel.
- Powder coating is chalking or flaking near the gate. This is usually the first visible sign of coating failure on high-traffic sections. It starts cosmetic, but exposed aluminum under Dallas heat can oxidize and seize the hardware.
- Self-tapping screws have backed out of the post caps. Wind vibration over years works screws loose. If you can spin the cap by hand, water has been getting into the post, and the internal steel stiffener may be rusting.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Fence installation for ECO Window Systems products in Dallas typically runs $3,500 to $9,000. The range isn’t vague: it tracks directly to linear footage and post replacement count. A 50-foot run where we’re reusing existing posts and swapping panels and hardware lands at the low end. A 150-foot run where half the posts need to be dug out, re-set in concrete, and re-aligned pushes toward the top.
Every quote is a written price before work starts. We don’t give a ballpark and then change the number at the door. That written price includes the parts, the labor, haul-off of the old fence material, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the fence fails inside a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. The guarantee is in writing on every project, same as the price.

AfterDIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself before picking up the phone. Look at the post caps to see if screws are missing. Check whether the gate hinge blocks have visible cracking. Measure your post width so you know whether you have the Standard or Premium Series. But fence post work in Dallas soil is not a weekend project. Digging out a settled post, setting a new one in concrete that extends below the clay line, and keeping the entire line plumb takes equipment and a second set of hands. If a gate is supported by a failed post, the gate can also come down on someone. That’s not a scare tactic; it’s a real weight distribution problem.
If the damage is isolated to a panel or a hinge block, and you’re comfortable with a level and a drill, it’s a reasonable Saturday job with the correct parts. If a post is involved, or the gate won’t latch, call us first. Trevor Nash started framing houses, and he’s pulled enough fence posts in Texas clay to know which ones are worth saving. Call (940) 204-5368 and we’ll give you a written number before anyone picks up a tool.
FAQs

Expect 15 to 20 years from the aluminum itself, but the gate hardware and post footings typically need attention at the 8 to 12 year mark because of Dallas clay soil movement and summer UV load. The posts fail before the panels do, which is why we price post replacement separately from panel work. Call (940) 204-5368 if your fence is in that age range and you’re seeing movement.
Yes, most of the time. We can replace hinge blocks, re-seat settled posts, swap damaged panels, and re-level gates without pulling the entire fence. A full replacement only makes sense if multiple posts have shifted and the line is visibly wavy. We’ll tell you which one you need and put the price in writing before any work starts.
A straight panel and hardware swap usually takes one day. If we’re re-setting posts in concrete, the pour needs a day to cure before we hang the panels, so plan for two to three days depending on how many posts are involved and how hard the ground is when we dig.
We stock the common failure items: both generations of hinge blocks, post caps, channel gaskets, and self-tapping screw kits for the Standard and Premium Series. If we don’t have a specific part on the truck, we can usually source it same week through our local suppliers. Call (940) 204-5368 and describe what you’re seeing; we’ll tell you right then whether it’s a truck stock item.
