Belgard Windows & Doors: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
If you have a Belgard window or door that’s sticking, leaking, or not sealing the way it used to, you’re in the right place. We match Belgard-compatible window and door parts to the correct model, stock the most common hardware on the truck, and install replacements across Dallas. Typical installed pricing for Belgard window and door hardware runs $450 – $4,500 depending on what’s failed: a worn hinge or lock assembly is on the low end, while a full multi-point door system or a large insulated glass unit (IGU) lands toward the top. Most owners discover the failure the same way: the door won’t latch square, the window won’t close without lifting, or condensation has worked its way between the panes.
We’re an independent Dallas service provider, not a Belgard factory outlet, so we don’t have a parts counter. What we do have is experience matching the right part to the right Belgard line, and a written price before we touch anything.
Which Belgard Models This Applies To

Belgard’s residential window and door lines vary significantly in hardware, so the first step is always identification. Look for an etched corner marking or a white tag on the door hinge edge or window frame. Belgard aluminum products and their newer thermally broken lines use different hinge geometries; a part cut for one won’t seat properly in the other. The hinge screw pattern, for example, is commonly 32mm on sliding patio doors but 38mm on certain French-style units. We’ve seen owners order a handle set online and then strip the mounting holes because the stud spacing was off by six millimeters.
For the OEM-versus-aftermarket decision, our position is simple: if the part is a latch assembly, a hinge, or a weatherstripping profile, a quality aftermarket equivalent usually performs fine and often arrives faster. If it’s the multi-point lock gearbox inside a Belgian-style patio door, we recommend the OEM part because the internal timing has to match the rod throw exactly. We’ll walk you through which parts justify OEM and which don’t, then give you a written number either way.

Signs Your Belgard Windows & Doors Is Failing
- Condensation or fog between the glass panes. The seal on the insulated glass unit has failed. In Dallas, the summer heat accelerates seal degradation, and once moisture is inside, the glass can’t be cleaned; the unit gets replaced.
- The door latches only when you lift the handle or push with your hip. The hinges have sagged or the strike plate has migrated. This is often repairable with a hinge realignment, but left alone it will oval out the screw holes and make a simple fix impossible.
- The handle turns but the door won’t unlock from outside. A multi-point lock gearbox has stripped a tooth. This is more common on doors installed without an adequate drip edge over the top, which lets water work down into the mechanism.
- Wind or dust creeps in along the bottom of a closed door. The interlocking weatherstrip or threshold cap has compressed beyond recovery. North Texas wind will find any gap, and once dust starts coming through, the seal is done.
- The window closes but won’t engage the tilt latch or stay in the track. The pivot shoe or tilt latch has worn. If you force it, the sash can drop out of the track and pinch fingers or crack glass.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we see across Dallas for Belgard window and door part replacements, installed:
- Hinge replacement (single door or casement window): $450 – $950
- Weatherstripping / seal replacement (one door or window): $250 – $650
- Multi-point lock gearbox replacement: $750 – $1,800
- Full hardware set (handles, latch, cylinders, hinges): $1,200 – $3,200
- Insulated glass unit replacement (large patio door or window): $1,500 – $4,500
Every quote includes the part, labor, disposal of the old piece, and a written guarantee. The range moves on three things: which Belgard line you have, whether the part is OEM or an acceptable aftermarket equivalent, and how much realignment the frame needs once the new part is in. If the door’s been out of square for a while, installing a new gearbox into a frame that’s hogged out behind the hinges will fail again in a year. That’s exactly the kind of thing we catch and price before work starts, not after.
DIY or Call Us?
An owner can safely check a few things: read the model tag, note where the failure shows (top hinge? bottom latch? glass fog?), and tighten visible hinge screws. Do not attempt a multi-point lock gearbox replacement if the door uses vertical rods driven inside the frame; the rod timing is unforgiving, and a mis-timed rod can jam the door shut if the pawl catches. We’ve unjammed enough of those in Dallas to say that with full confidence. Call (940) 204-5368, tell us what you’re seeing, and we’ll give you a straight answer about whether it’s a truck-stock fix or a parts order, plus a written price before anyone picks up a tool.
FAQs

Frames typically last 20 to 30 years here, but hardware and seals have a shorter calendar: expect 8 to 12 years from hinges and locks, and 10 to 15 from glass seals before the Texas sun and humidity start doing real damage. If your door sits on a west-facing exposure without shade, shorten those numbers. Call (940) 204-5368 and we can tell you over the phone whether what you’re describing is normal wear or something that’s about to compound.
Some can. Hinge sag is often a realignment, not a part replacement. A latch that doesn’t engage cleanly is often a strike plate adjustment. But sealed glass with fog inside, a stripped gearbox tooth, or a compressed interlock seal cannot be repaired; they get swapped. We’d rather tell you the inexpensive fix than sell you a part you don’t need, and our written price reflects that.
The most common repairs land between 45 and 90 minutes once the part is in hand. If the part has to be ordered, we give you a delivery window when we quote, and we show up inside whatever window we gave, not somewhere later in the week. Give you a number before I pick up a tool, that’s the only way I know how to start.
We stock the common truck items: hinge sets, roller assemblies, latch strikes, and standard weatherstripping profiles. Oddline work and OEM multi-point gearboxes are usually a few days out. We’ll tell you which one you’re looking at before we schedule anything. And while you’re thinking about it, we also match cabinet hardware for KraftMaid and surface materials like Cambria and Silestone, so if your project’s grown past a single part, we can handle that too.
