Techo-Bloc Driveway & Pavers: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Techo-Bloc-compatible pavers and driveway materials throughout Dallas, with typical installed paver driveway work running $7,000 – $18,000 depending on square footage, base condition, and the specific Techo-Bloc line you’re matching. Most Dallas homeowners reach out because a section of their driveway has settled, cracked, or heaved after our clay soil’s freeze-thaw-and-shrink cycle, or because they need replacement units to match an existing Techo-Bloc pattern after a utility repair tore up a section. You need to know whether your part can be matched, what it’ll cost, and whether the fix holds up in North Texas weather.
Which Techo-Bloc Models This Applies To

Techo-Bloc builds its paver and driveway lines around specific series: Blu 60 mm and 80 mm slabs, Industria, Hexa, Victorien, Borealis, and the Raffinato series, among others. The critical matching detail is the unit’s thickness and face dimension, not just the color name. A Blu 60 mm paver has a different profile than a Blu 80 mm unit, and they are not interchangeable in the same plane, even if the color is identical. The second matching detail is the mold series, because Techo-Bloc changes molds over the years and units from a 2015 production run may sit 1/16″ different from a 2024 run of the “same” paver.
We identify the right part by reading the underside markings on a clean unit: Techo-Bloc stamps the series name and often the plant code. If that’s worn off, we measure thickness and face dimensions with calipers and match against the current catalog. Penhallow Remodeling Dallas is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Techo-Bloc, which matters in a good way: we’ll tell you honestly when a quality aftermarket unit from a Texas distributor will sit flush, and when only an OEM Techo-Bloc unit will preserve the pattern. For driveway sections, we most often source OEM because color batch differences across years are too visible in direct sunlight.

Signs Your Techo-Bloc Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Settling or a low spot that holds water after rain. Dallas clay shrinks during dry summers and swells after wet winters. That movement compacts the paver base unevenly, and the pavers follow the soil down. A low spot is almost always a base failure, not a paver failure.
- Cracked or chipped paver faces. Vehicle tires over an edge that’s lost base support will snap the unit. Techo-Bloc pavers are dense, but concrete under point load without full base contact cracks like anything else.
- Spreading joints or pavers drifting outward. Missing edge restraint, usually along a driveway’s outer border, lets the whole field slowly walk. You’ll see the gap widen between the border course and the field before anything else moves.
- Efflorescence or a whitish haze that won’t scrub off. This is mineral migration through the paver, common in Dallas because our water is hard and our soil is alkaline. It’s cosmetic but persistent unless sealed after cleaning.
- Rocking or wobbly individual units. If one paver rocks underfoot, the sand bedding below it has washed out. Left alone, that unit will crack and the wobble spreads to its neighbors.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Dallas paver driveway installation, you’re looking at $7,000 – $18,000 for a full driveway in the typical 400 – 800 square foot range, with Techo-Bloc pavers themselves typically representing 35 – 45% of the project cost. Spot repairs for a settled section or utility cut repair run lower, usually $1,200 – $4,000 depending on how much base rebuild is needed. What drives the number up: driveway slope and drainage work, deeper excavation to reach stable clay, and matching older Techo-Bloc colors that require sourcing from multiple distributors. What drives it down: good existing base, simple rectangular layout, and current-production units we can pull from Dallas-area stock.
Every quote includes the pavers, base material, delivery, grading, install, joint sand, and cleanup. We put the written price in your hand before we touch the ground, and the number stays the number. No change order at the curb.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a single broken paver that’s loose and accessible is a reasonable Saturday project if you can source the exact unit and aren’t fussy about joint sand color. Rebuilding a settled section, however, is not a DIY job. You have to excavate the base, compact it in lifts, re-set the units, and re-establish edge restraint, and if you skip compaction or use the wrong aggregate, the same low spot returns in eighteen months. On a driveway, any heavy compaction equipment also means calling an 811 locator before you dig. If you’re not sure which bucket you fall into, call (940) 204-5368 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you straight whether it’s a one-hour fix or a half-day base rebuild.
FAQs

In Dallas soil and sun, a correctly installed Techo-Bloc driveway section should last 30 – 40 years before significant base failure, with surface wear showing first on the face texture. The pavers themselves rarely wear out; the base below them does.
Most settled sections can be repaired without touching healthy ones. We cut the section, rebuild the base, reset the original units plus any replacements, and re-sand the joints. The pattern returns; the repair line disappears within a season of weathering.
Most spot repairs or section rebuilds take one day. A full driveway runs 3 – 5 days from excavation to final joint sand, weather depending.
We carry common current-production units in our Dallas shop and can usually source older series within a few days from regional distributors. When you call, we’ll tell you whether your match is on the shelf or on order before we schedule anything.
