Tremron Windows & Doors: The Dallas Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Tremron-compatible window and door parts across Dallas, with most replacements running $150 – $650 installed depending on the component, finish, and whether we’re matching an existing line or upgrading the hardware. The call usually comes after a homeowner notices a window that won’t stay open, a door that drags against the frame, or a latch that no longer catches cleanly. Sometimes it’s a seal that’s given up after ten Dallas summers; sometimes it’s a roller or hinge that wore out years before anyone noticed.

Call (940) 204-5368

We’re an independent Dallas remodeling company, not a Tremron dealer or affiliate, which matters for one reason: we don’t have a reason to upsell you a full window replacement when a $30 balance shoe or a $60 hinge would fix the problem. We carry Tremron-compatible parts on our trucks because we run into enough of them on service calls that it makes sense to. When a part isn’t on the truck, we source it same-week through our trade suppliers, and we’ll tell you the price before we order anything.

Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron has produced windows and doors across several series lines over the years, and the parts aren’t always interchangeable between them. If you have your original paperwork, the series name is printed on the warranty card or the order summary. Without paperwork, there’s a faster way: open the window sash and look at the sticker on the frame edge or the underside of the top rail. It’ll have a model code and usually a manufacture date. That code is what we match parts against.

The single biggest compatibility gotcha we see in Dallas: balance systems. Tremron windows from different production years used different balance shoe widths, even within what looks like the same window style. A shoe that’s off by an eighth of an inch won’t seat, and then the sash won’t hold at any height. We measure, don’t guess, and we’ve learned to carry the three most common shoe widths on the truck for exactly this reason. For door hardware, the question is backset (the distance from the door edge to the center of the knob or lever) and handing (left or right swing). Tremron doors span 2-3/8" and 2-3/4" backsets depending on the series, and we’ll confirm yours before pulling a part.

On OEM versus aftermarket: Original Tremron parts are the safest cosmetic match, but some of them are no longer produced, and aftermarket suppliers make quality equivalents for the common failure points. We’ll give you both options with prices when they exist, and we won’t install anything that won’t hold up to Texas heat. A cheap vinyl seal that bakes brittle in one Dallas summer isn’t saving anyone money.

Signs Your Tremron Windows & Doors Is Failing

  • Window drops or won’t stay up. The balance system (the spring-loaded mechanism inside the frame that counterweights the sash) has worn or snapped. This is the most common Tremron window call in Dallas, and it’s almost always fixable without replacing the window.
  • Door drags or scrapes the threshold. Usually a worn hinge or a roller that’s flattened on one side. If the door still closes but needs a shoulder, the part is failing even if it looks fine from the outside.
  • Draft around a closed window or door. The weatherstripping or a corner seal has compressed or cracked. North Texas temperature swings from 20° to 105° harden seals faster than the manufacturer’s average, so we plan on replacing these on a shorter cycle than the paperwork suggests.
  • Lock or latch won’t engage. The keeper or strike plate has shifted, or an internal latch spring has failed. This is a security issue, not a nuisance — a door that won’t latch is a door that doesn’t lock.
  • Condensation or haze between glass panes. The insulated glass unit’s seal has failed. This one’s a bigger job than a hardware swap: the glass unit itself gets replaced, not repaired.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Replacement window and door replacement in Dallas runs $4,500 – $15,000 for full units, but when we’re talking about a Tremron part rather than a whole window, you’re looking at a much smaller number. Here’s what we typically quote for Tremron-compatible service work:

  • Balance shoe or spiral balance replacement: $150 – $350 per window, including labor
  • Weatherstripping and seal replacement: $100 – $250 per window or door
  • Door hinge, roller, or latch replacement: $120 – $400 depending on hardware finish
  • Lock and keeper alignment or replacement: $100 – $250
  • Insulated glass unit replacement: $400 – $1,200 depending on size and glass package

Every one of those numbers is a written price before we start — not an estimate range, not a verbal ballpark. The price on the quote is the price on the invoice. Our installed prices include the part, labor, disposal of what came out, and a written one-year guarantee on the repair work. If the fix fails inside a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s in writing on every job we do in Dallas.

DIY or Call Us?

Some of this you can absolutely check yourself: read the sticker on the window to get your model code before you call anyone, note whether the door rubs at the top or bottom hinge, and test whether the latch catches at all. Those three things cut our diagnosis time in half when we arrive.

What we’d rather you not do: open a window sash to dig into the balance system. Window balances are under tension, and when they release, they release fast. Fingers and pry bars lose that fight. The same goes for tempered glass units — if a pane is cracked, leave it in place until a professional can pull it. If you want to save yourself the trouble entirely, call (940) 204-5368 and we’ll come look. Trevor Nash makes it a point to give you a number before he picks up a tool — that’s the only way he knows how to start.
