CWS Roofing: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
If your CWS roofing system has a failed or failing part, we can match it, price it, and install it. Typical CWS-compatible roof repair in Dallas runs $400 – $1,800 depending on what failed and how much decking or underlayment came with it, and full replacements on CWS shingle roofs generally land between $8,000 and $20,000. Most Dallas homeowners discover a problem the same way: a water stain on the ceiling after a hard spring storm, granules collecting in the gutter, or a shingle flapping in the wind where the ridge meets the slope. We keep common CWS-compatible flashing, sealants, and ridge components on the truck, so a lot of repairs are one-visit jobs.
Which CWS Models This Applies To

CWS built roofing systems across a wide range of product lines over the years, and the part that failed on a 2008 roof won’t always match what’s in production today. The most common CWS roofing components we see in Dallas are laminated architectural shingles, roll roofing on low-slope sections, and metal ridge caps. Before we order or install anything, we check the shingle dimensions (standard 3-tab vs architectural, which affects exposure and sealant strip placement), the roof pitch, and any visible manufacturer labels on leftover bundles or the underside of a lifted shingle.
For CWS shingles specifically, the compatibility gotcha is the sealant strip. Some CWS lines used a narrower adhesive band than today’s common architectural shingles, which matters when you’re replacing a few damaged courses instead of the whole roof. If the sealant doesn’t line up, wind uplift becomes a real problem on the next March cold front. We also carry quality aftermarket flashing and underlayment that match or exceed original spec; for the shingles themselves, we match OEM where the roof is under warranty, and use proven equivalents when it’s not. Penhallow Remodeling Dallas is an independent service provider, not affiliated with CWS, so we call it straight on what’s worth paying OEM prices for.

Signs Your CWS Roofing Is Failing
- Granules washing into gutters after rain. Dallas downpours strip loose granules fast, and a steady buildup in the gutter means the shingle’s protective top layer is wearing thin, usually on south-facing slopes that take the worst of the Texas sun.
- Water stains on ceilings or walls after a storm. This usually means a sealant strip let go, a pipe boot cracked, or flashing pulled away at a chimney or vent. By the time the stain shows, water has been traveling through the decking for a while.
- Shingles lifting or flapping along the ridge line. CWS ridge caps take the brunt of Dallas wind gusts, and once the sealant loses grip, the cap shingles start peeling back like a deck of cards.
- Curling or cupping shingle edges. Asphalt shingles curl when the decking underneath traps heat and moisture. We see this most often in older Dallas homes where attic ventilation was never upgraded after the original roof went on.
- Damp insulation or musty smell in the attic. That’s a slow leak, often from a pinhole in roll roofing on a low-slope section or a failed seam in flashing. It doesn’t take much water to make an attic smell like a wet tarp.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what CWS-compatible roofing work costs in Dallas, installed:
- Minor roof repair (small flashing patch, sealant, single shingle replacement): $400 – $800
- Moderate repair (multiple shingles, pipe boot, small decking patch): $800 – $1,400
- Larger repair (ridge cap rebuild, flashing replacement, decking repair): $1,200 – $1,800
- Full CWS-compatible roof replacement: $8,000 – $20,000 depending on roof size, pitch, layers being torn off, and decking condition
Every quote includes the part, labor, cleanup, and haul-away. The number we write on the quote is the number on the invoice, and it stays there unless we open a wall or deck section and find rot that no one could have seen from outside. If that happens, we show you a picture and get a written sign-off before any additional work. Every repair comes with our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the same repair fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.

There are two things worth checking from the ground: visible shingle lift or missing ridge cap pieces, and granule volume in your gutter downspout splash block. That’s it. Once a roof is involved, the risk changes. Walking on a Dallas roof in July means surface temperatures over 140 degrees, and one wrong step on a brittle CWS shingle starts a new problem you didn’t have before. Steep pitches, two-story eaves, and anything near the edge means a fall risk that isn’t worth saving a few hundred dollars. If you see signs of failure, give us a call at (940) 204-5368. We’ll look at the roof, tell you what’s actually wrong, and write you a number you can hold us to.
FAQs

Most CWS asphalt shingle roofs in Dallas last 15 to 22 years, with the shorter end applying to south-facing slopes and homes without adequate attic ventilation. North-facing slopes can go a few years longer. For a full replacement quote on your CWS roof, call (940) 204-5368 and we’ll price it by square footage and pitch.
It depends on what failed. Cracked pipe boots, lifted flashing, and single damaged shingles are repairable. Widespread granule loss, curling across multiple slopes, or decking rot usually means replacement of the affected section or the whole roof. We’ll tell you straight which one you’re looking at.
Most repairs are done in a single visit that lasts two to four hours. Small flashing and pipe boot replacements take under two hours. We’ll give you an arrival window before we come out, not an all-day “sometime between 8 and dark” answer.
We keep common CWS-compatible flashing, sealants, ridge caps, and standard architectural shingle colors on the truck. If your repair needs a specific color or a less common component, we source it locally and usually have it in hand within one to two business days.
