Boral Driveway & Pavers: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
If your Boral driveway or paver is cracked, sunken, or shifting, we stock Boral-compatible replacement pavers and can match new units to your existing layout. Installed replacement work in Dallas typically runs $700 – $4,500 depending on how many units failed and whether the base underneath needs rebuilding. Most single-paver swaps take under two hours. You’ll usually spot the problem after a heavy rain when a corner dips, or when a paver splits along a stress line and the crack widens with every car that rolls over it.
Here’s what matters: Boral pavers fail for reasons that have little to do with the paver itself. The base settles, water finds a channel, tree roots push up, or the edge restraint lets go. We’ve pulled up Boral units in Oak Cliff and found perfectly intact pavers sitting on sand that had washed out entirely. Fix the paver without fixing what’s under it, and you’ll be calling again in six months.
Which Boral Models This Applies To

Boral produces paver lines under a few names you’ll recognize on a pallet tag: Boral Clay Pavers, Boral Concrete Pavers, and the Boral Stone and Permeable Paver series, which includes the widely installed permeable pavers built for Dallas drainage code requirements. The compatibility gotcha is thickness and profile. Boral clay pavers commonly ship in 60mm residential thickness, while their concrete pavers run 60mm to 80mm depending on whether they’re rated for foot traffic or vehicle loads. A 60mm paver used under a driveway that carries a full-size pickup will fail early, and in Dallas we see exactly that on homes where a previous installer ordered the cheaper pedestrian-rated unit for a car area.
To identify your paver, flip over an unbroken unit. Boral stamps a product code and often a manufacturing plant mark on the underside or the side face. Wipe off the dust and photograph that code before you call anyone. If the stamp is gone, measure the thickness with a tape measure, not a guess. For matching, we source OEM Boral units when the line is still in production, and we’re honest when it isn’t: some Boral paver colors and profiles have been discontinued, and the match becomes a same-spec aftermarket unit with a color blend we can hand-select from the local Dallas paver yard.

Signs Your Boral Driveway & Pavers Are Failing
- A single paver rocks underfoot or under tire. This is almost always a base problem, not a paver problem. The sand bedding has settled or washed out beneath that one unit, and it will only get worse as water works the void wider.
- Hairline cracks running along a straight line across multiple pavers. That’s a stress crack from a shifting base or a failed edge restraint. The pavers are acting like a bridge over a soft spot, and they will keep cracking until the unsupported span is rebuilt.
- Water ponds in one low area after Dallas storms. Boral permeable pavers are designed to drain, but only if the base was built with the right aggregate. Clogged joint material or a compacted clay base underneath defeats the system, and standing water then freezes in our occasional ice events and pops units loose.
- Edges pulling away from the driveway border. The restraint system, often a concrete curb or plastic edge, has failed. Once the outer row shifts, the entire field starts drifting under everyday load.
- Sand washing up through the joints after every rain. That’s joint sand eroding from below because water is moving through the profile instead of across it. Left alone, the pavers lose their interlock and start chipping at the edges.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For driveway and paver repair in Dallas, a straightforward single-unit swap with new bedding sand and re-sanded joints runs $200 – $500. A larger repair, meaning a 20 to 40 square foot section rebuilt with new base, compacted aggregate, and matched Boral units, lands between $700 and $2,500. Full-edge restraint replacement with paver re-seating on a standard two-car driveway runs $1,500 – $4,500. What drives the number up is depth of failed base, access to the area, and whether we’re matching an in-production Boral paver or sourcing and color-blending an aftermarket equivalent.
Every repair includes the written price before we start, the paver material, bedding sand, joint sand, and a written 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s not a verbal assurance. It’s in writing on the job sheet.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect your own driveway. Note where water ponds, mark the rocking pavers with chalk, and take photos of any Boral stamp codes before it rains again. That information saves a service visit. What we don’t recommend is prying up pavers yourself without understanding what’s underneath. If the base has failed, you’ll excavate a hole you can’t properly rebuild without a plate compactor and the right aggregate, and a poorly compacted patch will sink inside one Dallas rainy season. If the affected area is on a slope or carries vehicle weight daily, leave it to a trained crew. It’s not dangerous work like a garage-door spring, and it won’t hurt you. It will just cost more to redo if the base isn’t right.
We’re an independent Dallas contractor, not affiliated with Boral, and we carry a stocked range of common Boral-compatible units on the truck for same-day assessment. Call (940) 204-5368 and we’ll give you a written number for the repair before we pick up a shovel.
FAQs

Boral concrete pavers properly installed over a compacted aggregate base routinely last 25 to 35 years in Dallas conditions, though our summer heat and clay soil movement mean the base usually needs attention long before the pavers themselves wear out. Clay pavers can last even longer on the surface but are more brittle under point loads. The paver isn’t usually the failure point; the preparation is.
A paver with a clean crack can sometimes be flipped or patched with a color-matched concrete repair product, but in a driveway we almost always replace the unit. Repaired pavers fail along the same stress line when the base issue isn’t addressed, and a replacement unit costs less than a callback. Call (940) 204-5368 and we’ll tell you straight whether the unit can be saved.
A single-unit swap with sand reset takes about one to two hours on site. A section rebuild with base work runs four to eight hours depending on access and how much failed material we’re removing. Either way, we give you a written arrival window and a written price before we start.
Our trucks carry the most common Boral-compatible profiles and thicknesses for Dallas driveways, and we source OEM Boral units or same-spec equivalents from local yards for larger matches. If you have a stamp code from the underside of an unbroken paver, that tells us exactly what to bring. Call (940) 204-5368 for a free estimate.
