CertainTeed Driveway & Pavers: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
If you have a CertainTeed paver driveway or walkway in Dallas and a section is sinking, cracked, or separating, we can match your existing pavers, price the repair in writing, and install them correctly the first time. A paver repair on a CertainTeed driveway in Dallas typically runs $700 – $3,500 depending on how many pavers need replacing, what’s happening to the base underneath, and whether we’re regrading the slope. Most owners notice the problem as a low spot that pools water after rain, an edge that’s started to spread into the lawn, or pavers that rock underfoot and used to sit dead flat.
We’re not affiliated with CertainTeed. We’re an independent Dallas remodeling contractor, and we’ve done enough paver work in North Texas to know exactly how CertainTeed products hold up here – and what makes them fail. The usual culprit isn’t the paver itself. It’s the base. And that’s where the repair cost lives.
Which CertainTeed Models This Applies To

CertainTeed has produced driveway paver lines under a few different names over the years, and the naming matters when you’re trying to source a matching paver for a repair. If you bought from a big-box store, you likely have a stock color from their standard residential line. If a builder put it in, you may have a discontinued color that no longer ships to Dallas suppliers. Either way, the first thing we do is pull up a paver and check the underside for a mold stamp or batch code. That stamp tells us the series, the mold, and often the production run.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most Dallas homeowners run into: pavers from different production runs of the same CertainTeed color will not match perfectly. Pigment batches drift. UV exposure in Texas accelerates that drift. A paver that’s been baking in a Dallas driveway for six summers will look different from a brand-new one out of the box, even if it’s technically the same SKU. We remind people of that before we quote, because the honest answer is sometimes “we can get close, but we can’t get identical.” When that’s the case, we’ll tell you and price an alternative – like a border pattern or a full-section blend – before we touch anything.
Aftermarket equivalents exist for most CertainTeed paver profiles. They’re usually 5 – 10% less expensive per square foot, and for large replacements that’s real money. But the dimensional tolerances are slightly looser, which matters when your driveway runs 40 feet and any size drift compounds across the run. For repair sections under 100 square feet, we’ll typically source the genuine OEM paver if it’s still in production. For anything larger, we’ll give you both numbers – CertainTeed and a quality equivalent – and let you decide with real costs in hand.

Signs Your CertainTeed Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Water pooling in a low spot that never used to hold water. This means the compacted base underneath has settled or washed out. The pavers are fine; what’s underneath them is not. In Dallas clay soil, this is the most common paver problem we see, and it only gets worse after a wet spring.
- Pavers rocking or shifting when you step on them. Loose pavers mean the sand joint material between them has washed out and the base isn’t locking them in place anymore. Left alone, the edges chip and the gaps widen until you’re looking at a full section rebuild.
- Edges spreading into the lawn or flower beds. Every paver system needs a rigid edge restraint. When that plastic or concrete edge fails, the outer rows push outward a few inches a year. You’ll see a curved, lazy edge instead of a straight line.
- Hairline cracks across individual pavers. A cracked paver is usually a symptom of unequal support underneath, not a defective product. One paver spans a small void, the weight of a vehicle finds it, and the paver cracks at the midpoint. We’ve pulled cracked pavers in Lake Highlands driveways and found a hollow underneath no bigger than a grapefruit.
- Weed growth in consistent lines, not random spots. Weeds in joints are normal and cosmetic. Weeds pushing through in a line usually point to a failed joint under a seam where two paver runs meet, or where a sprinkler line leaks just enough to wash out the sand underneath.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a CertainTeed paver repair in Dallas, we quote based on square footage, not just the number of pavers. A small edge repair with re-leveling might run $700 – $1,500. A sunken section that needs excavation, fresh base, compaction, and paver re-laying typically lands between $1,500 – $3,500. A full driveway re-set on a standard two-car pad can reach $7,000 – $18,000, which lines up with what a new paver driveway installation costs in this market.
The price includes removal and disposal of the failed section, new crushed stone base installed in lifts and compacted, fresh bedding sand, re-laying the pavers to match the existing pattern, fresh joint sand swept into the gaps, and a light compaction pass. We give you that breakdown in writing before we start. No “base work is extra” surprises on day three. The written number you sign is the written number on the invoice. That’s the Kingswell standard, and it applies to a $700 paver repair the same as it does a $45,000 kitchen remodel.
DIY or Call Us?
You can absolutely inspect your own paver issues. Check for ponding water after rain. Walk the surface in bare feet and feel for rocking. Look at the edges and see if they’re straight. Those observations help us give you a faster, more accurate phone quote. What we’d caution against is pulling pavers yourself to “see what’s underneath.” Once you disturb the bedding sand and base, you’re committed to re-compacting it properly, and a hand tamper from Home Depot won’t get you close to the 95% compaction a plate compactor delivers. Poor compaction is exactly how most paver failures start in Dallas, where our clay expands and contracts with every wet-dry cycle.
If the pavers you’re pulling are near a driveway expansion joint or a downspout discharge point, pause and give us a call at (940) 204-5368. Water flow problems there are never just paver problems, and fixing the paver without fixing the water means doing it twice.
FAQs

CertainTeed concrete pavers in Dallas typically last 20 – 30 years before the paver itself degrades, though the base under them usually needs re-work every 10 – 15 years. The extreme heat, freeze-thaw cycles in a cold January, and expansive clay soil all work against the base faster than they work against the paver. Call (940) 204-5368 and we’ll assess what’s failing – paver or base – before you spend on the wrong fix.
Individual cracked pavers get replaced rather than repaired, because any patch or filler will separate within a season or two under Dallas sun and vehicle weight. Most single-paver replacements with the base correction that should accompany them run $150 – $400 all-in. If multiple pavers are cracked in a cluster, we’ll look for the underlying base problem and quote you the section repair, not a dozen one-off replacements.
Most CertainTeed paver repair sections take half a day to one full day on site. That includes demolition, base work, re-laying, and cleanup. Larger section rebuilds or driveway re-sets can stretch to two or three days. The base material needs to be compacted in lifts, and we don’t rush that step – it’s the difference between a repair that settles again in three years and one that stays flat for ten.
We don’t keep CertainTeed pavers stocked on our trucks, because the color, mold, and production-run variables make it impossible to carry useful inventory. What we do is source them fast through Dallas suppliers once we have the stamp information from your existing pavers. Most OEM orders arrive within three to five business days. For common colors, we can often have them the following day. Call (940) 204-5368 with a photo of the damaged area and we’ll tell you exactly what we’re looking at and how long sourcing will take.
If we’re quoting a larger project and you’re weighing CertainTeed against other paver lines, we also work with Belgard and Unilock pavers, and for interior work we regularly install KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria and Silestone countertops. Having options on the materials side means we can give you a real comparison, not a sales pitch for whichever brand we happen to have an open account with.
Give you a number before I pick up a tool – that’s the only way I know how to start.
