Cambria Bathroom Remodeling: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
A full Cambria bathroom remodel in Dallas typically runs $9,000 – $28,000 installed, and we quote the whole job in writing before a single panel comes off the wall. Most Dallas homeowners call us when a Cambria quartz vanity top cracks, a Cambria shower surround leaks at the seam, or a Cambria backsplash has pulled away from the wall after a bad install. We stock the job materials, handle the tear-out, and get the new surfaces set so your bathroom works again without you chasing three different trades.
Here’s what usually brings the call: you notice a hairline crack spreading across the countertop near the sink, you feel a soft spot around the lavatory edge, or the silicone seam between the Cambria panel and your tub has gone black and started peeling. Sometimes it’s a vanity that was never shimmed right and the Cambria top now slopes toward the back wall. Trevor Nash has torn out enough of these to tell you the pattern: the failure is rarely the Cambria itself. It’s usually what’s under it or around it.
Which Cambria Models This Applies To

Cambria doesn’t make “replacement parts” in the traditional sense. Cambria is a quartz slab manufacturer, so we’re not ordering a pre-fab faucet cartridge with a Cambria part number. We’re working with the installed Cambria surfaces in your bathroom: vanity tops, shower surrounds, tub decks, accent bands, and backsplashes. The model names you’ll see on Cambria dealer paperwork are finish names, things like Brittanicca, Torquay, Summerhill, or Portrush. These names identify the color and veining pattern of the slab, not a plumbing component.
One thing Dallas owners need to know: Cambria slabs are cut and fabricated by local stone shops for each job. That means if your vanity top cracks, we’re not ordering “a Cambria top for a 49-inch vanity, model XYZ.” We’re matching the slab thickness (Cambria is typically 3cm, or about 1¼ inches, sometimes 2cm for vertical shower walls) and then matching the finish name against Cambria’s current palette. Slab dye lots change, and a finish made five years ago won’t always match a fresh slab from a Dallas fabricator’s yard. We check before we promise a match.

Signs Your Cambria Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- A crack running from the sink cutout toward the front edge. Cambria quartz is strong, but a sink that wasn’t properly supported underneath, or a cabinet that has shifted on a settling Dallas slab foundation, creates a stress point that eventually shows as a crack. Fixing the top without addressing the cabinet or foundation movement means the new top cracks in the same place.
- Seams in the shower surround pulling apart or turning dark. Water has been getting behind the joint and into the substrate. The fix usually involves removing the affected panel, repairing or replacing the cement board substrate (the moisture-resistant layer behind your tile), and re-setting the Cambria panel with a fresh waterproofed seam.
- The vanity top is wobbling or rocks when you press down on a corner. The cabinet underneath wasn’t shimmed level, or the plywood subtop has swollen from water exposure. A Cambria top is heavy, and if the base isn’t dead level, the top flexes until it cracks.
- Silicone caulking peeling away from the wall or tub every few months. This points to moisture wicking behind the panel, usually because the substrate wasn’t properly sealed or the original installer caulked over a wet seam.
- A chalky white haze or etched ring around the faucet area. That’s mineral deposit from Dallas water, which runs hard. Cambria is non-porous, so it’s a surface issue, but if left alone it looks worn. More telling is a dull patch or scratch from using an abrasive cleaner, which will never polish back to factory sheen without a pro.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Cambria-focused bathroom remodel in Dallas, the $9,000 – $28,000 range includes tear-out of the failed surfaces, substrate repair, leveling, new Cambria slab fabrication, installation, and clean-up. A swap of just the vanity top on a 49- to 60-inch cabinet with a simple undermount sink usually lands at the lower end, around $4,000 – $6,500 for the Cambria slab and labor. A full Cambria shower surround with a tub deck, shelves, and accent band is at the upper end.
The biggest cost drivers are the Cambria finish you pick (some patterns carry a premium at the Dallas stone yard), the linear footage of slab needed for shower walls, and whether the substrate underneath has to be rebuilt. We don’t hand out verbal estimates that change after demo. You get a written price before work starts, and that number is the number on the invoice, backed by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a seam fails inside that year, we come back at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely handle a few things yourself: re-caulking a seam with a high-quality silicone, polishing a dull spot with a quartz-safe cleaner, or reattaching a loose escutcheon plate around the faucet. Those are maintenance basics. But cracking a Cambria panel out, rebuilding a substrate, and setting a new 150-pound quartz slab on a level base is not a weekend project, and getting it wrong means you buy the slab twice.
We’ve repaired enough DIY Cambria tear-outs in Dallas to say these jobs go sideways fast: a homeowner pulls the old top, finds rotted plywood underneath, and now has a bathroom with no vanity and no plan. If you’re seeing water damage or movement, call (940) 204-5368 and we’ll come look. The estimate’s free, and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s a repair or a replacement.
FAQs

Properly installed Cambria quartz should last 20 – 30 years or more, because the material itself doesn’t absorb water, stain, or delaminate. What fails earlier in Dallas is the installation around it: substrate movement from clay soil shifting under the slab, silicone seams, and cabinet settling account for every early Cambria failure we see.
A shallow scratch or chip can sometimes be blended with a color-matched quartz repair compound, but a structural crack through the slab near the sink cutout has to be replaced. The danger with patching is that the crack continues to run, and you’ve spent money on a repair that’s holding a cracked slab together. We’ll tell you which one you have before quoting anything.
Most Dallas Cambria bathroom remodels run five to twelve business days, depending on whether we’re doing a vanity top swap or a full shower surround rebuild. The slab fabrication at a local Dallas stone shop typically adds three to five days after template. We give you a defined arrival window before we start and we stick to it.
We source Cambria through Dallas-area stone fabricators rather than stocking slabs in a warehouse, because each job is cut to template and slab inventory rotates. That also means we can pull from multiple fabricator yards to match your existing finish more closely. We install Cambria quartz alongside KraftMaid and Silestone materials when the job calls for them.
